Our early 20’s can be one of the most exciting times of your life, but it can also be one of the most complicated. Many of us are trying to find ourselves and discover our true passions all while juggling school, a full-time job, and a social life. The stresses can be overwhelming and anxiety is likely to get the best of us. That being said, no matter how busy you are, you MUST make it a priority to find time for yourself.
As a working college student, my mind is constantly in overdrive, thinking about everything I have to do. Many people work out to relieve their stress, but not me. In fact, I absolutely despise working out; the last thing I want to do after a long stressful day is go for a run or spend an hour at the gym. It’s boring- hence my love for yoga. Not only does yoga gives me a chance to escape and relieve my stress, but it also is an awesome and fun way to keep fit. Before I started practicing yoga, it was difficult for me to relax and clear my mind, but now, I don’t sweat the small stuff. Yoga changed my life, and whether or not you’re like me and hate working out, chances are it can change yours too.
There are a variety of types of yoga: beginners’ yoga, advanced yoga, restorative yoga, power flow vinyasa, and even aerial yoga. Click here to help determine what yoga is right for you.

At first it was difficult for me to get into the habit of going to yoga, probably because I hate working out and yoga is more strenuous then some people think. However, the trick is to find an instructor that you connect with and a studio that you love.

Benefits of Yoga
• Improves flexibility
• Strengthens immune system
• Promotes healthy diet
• Relieves tension in muscles
• Improves quality of sleep
There you have it; yoga can benefit you in many different ways. For those of you who have never practiced, grab a yoga mat, invite a friend, and go down to a yoga studio that catches your interest.
I personally love going with friends, but for those you who are more introverted and prefer to do it alone, you can look up at home yoga on Youtube and do it in the privacy of your own home. Either way, I urge you to give it shot, and invite positive energy into your life as your troubles melt away.
Namaste,
