Innovated a new community fundraiser showcasing a battle of the bands between musician/physicians, and produced the event annually in Sarasota and Pinellas counties from 2009 - 2013 which connected local medical communities, inspired a documentary film, garnered media attention for sponsors and raised thousands of dollars for nonprofit partners.

New Revenue: Doctor Idol – Battle of the Bands

Transformed a sparsely attended, run-of-the-mill mixer into a sold-out, over-the-top, themed experience showcasing editors’ and readers’ picks of the best local dining, shopping and entertainment. With increases across the board in attendance, revenue, exposure, guest, sponsor and nonprofit partner satisfaction, the Best of Sarasota party became a high-caliber event elevating the magazine’s brand and building confidence with sponsors, advertisers and the community at-large.
